Sądecka* games

The National Archives in Kraków, affiliate in Nowy Sącz, is organizing the second edition of the “Sądecka games.” The event is directed to students of intermediate schools (13-16 years old) from Nowy Sącz region. Apart from that, you can get some information on the materials used in the second edition of the game: photographs of Lemkos, as well as an excerpt from recollections by Michal Olesniewicz from the archive of Kychera ensemble, from Krynica. Authentic documents concerning Nikifor, reproductions of his pictures, letters of request by Nikifor and stills from “My Nikifor” movie from the District Museum of Nowy Sącz.

“My Nikifor”, the Polish drama film from 2004 is available here. It was directed by Krzysztof Krauze. The protagonist’s role of the eminent Lemko artist was played by the actress Krystyna Feldman. She was awarded for this role at several film festivals, including festivals in Gdynia and Karlovy Vary.
