Małanka in Gładyszów

The end of the year is coming, according to both the Julian and Gregorian calendar. People are preparing to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one. A few days ago we informed about such zabavas in the Presovian Rus’ and Lemkovyna.

When it comes to Lemkovyna, Małanka zabavas will take place not only in front of Magura, also behind it. Although winter is always longer and harder there, the organizers hope that the snow and frost will not keep anyone from attendance. We would like the people who live on the other side of Magura to have the possibility to meet, dance, spend time together, not to watch others’ clothes but have a good fun together. We are not doing this for money, but for the people – as Melania Peregrym from Smerekowiec says, a co-organizer and initiator of Małanka in Gładyszów.

The Małanka will take place in the village hall in Gładyszów on 13/14 January 2017. It starts at 7 PM. The ticket price (100zl) includes three hot dishes freshly cooked in the hall, some snacks and drinks. The event will be accompanied to by Pryzmat band. Although it is a Polish ensemble, they perform many our songs, so let us show how Lemkos spend time! – encourages Mela Peregrym who, apart from the general organization, is responsible also for the taste of the food.
