The autumn edition of “Besida” is already available

Just before the XXIV Lemko Cultural Autumn, the recent edition of “Besida” journal was published (No. 5 (152), September-October 2016), where you can find, among others:

Apart from the articles mentioned above, in the recent edition of the Lemko Association journal “Besida”, you can find a reprint of an article in Polish from the “Gazeta Krakowska”, dedicated to recollections by Dymitr Sabatovich from Długie (Dolhe). The last pages of the journal present recollections of the Archbishop of Przemyśl-Nowy Sącz Eparchy, Adam, of blessed memory, as well as a brief photoreport from the funeral service. The journal’s section Одшыли од нас (“Those who passed away”) is also dedicated to the memory of the Rusyn poet and political activist, Gabriel Gattinger-Klebashko, who passed away in July this year. Along with the article by Damian Trochanowski, there is a commentary of Petro Trochanowski – Од брата Петра (From brother Petro). This edition of “Besida,” much like the previous one, informs not only about the current events from the Rusyn world or historical anniversaries, it also includes a lot of Rusyn poetry and prose.

“Besida” bimonthly is a journal of Main Board of the Lemko Association. It has been published since 1989 and it is dedicated to the preservation of history, culture and language of Lemkos. It provides information on our community’s life, as well as others. It faithfully cares for our ancestors’ hopes.

“Besida” is available to read in the Ruska Bursa Library, Gorlice, which is open from Monday to Friday, or after an individual appointment in any time. The journal is also available in the local circles of Lemko Association in Poland.
