They will get to know about the language of icons in Kraków. Workshops on reading icons will be organized in the rooms of the St. Mary’s Basilica. The first of the lectures will take place on 5 February around 7.30PM.
The aim of the meetings is to present the people of the Western Church, as well as all the interested, with the meaning hidden in icons. These days, icons and iconography became very popular, even fashionable. It is not always about contemplation, longer stay in front of a holy image or understanding of an icon. In order for this to happen, it is necessary to get to know the language of icons. Thanks to this, an icon will not be seen only as artistic work, it may originate a real meeting with God, indeed.
