The Museum in Szymbark, as well as the Maziarska Farm in Łosie (affiliate of the The Museum of Karwacjan and Gładysz Family Manors in Gorlice) announced a film competition Ethno-vibes for the youth of middle and high schools.
The task will be to make a 5-minute etude that would illustrate folk autumn-winter customs and traditions from Lemkovyna or Pogórze. The theme may be activities presenting traditional handcraft or professions. The more original approach to the topic and interpretation of the old or contemporary traditions, the bigger chance for the prize. The organizer projects three awards and one additional – Audience Award that will be granted during the film show.
The participants may be individual artists or groups or 4, at most. Actors may be involved in the films, also, as a background for the etude, the area of the museum in Szymbark, as well as the Maziarska Farm’s may be used – the organizer facilitates all the necessary objects.
The aim of the competition is popularization of the knowledge on folk traditions and spreading the cultural heritage of the Gorlice Pogórze and Lemkovyna.
The film suggestions may be sent until 22 February 2017 to the address of the Museum of Karwacjan and Gładysz Family Manors in Gorlice (Wróblewskiego street 10A, 38-300 Gorlice) together with a filled application form. The entire statute is available here.
