“Besida” with a Lemko calendar for 2017

At the end of 2016, the last edition of “Besida” magazine was published (No. 6 (153), November-December 2016, which includes, apart from broad contents, also the “Besida Calendar” for 2017. Traditionally, to every year’s last edition also a calendar is enclosed, where you can find information on church holidays and name days for every day. In the new edition of “Besida” you can read among others about:

  Apart from the aforementioned articles, the recent edition of “Besida” includes also an extract from Pre-Christmas bootlegging by Adam Barna, a piece of prose Шмарливий дідо by Maria Girova, several fragments from available press that concern Lemko issues, as well as other fixed columns, such as poetry or Ambrozovy peredumania (Ambroz’s reflections).

“Besida” bimonthly is a magazine of the Central Board of the Lemko Association, it has been published since 1989, dedicated to protection of history, culture and language of Lemkos. It informs on the life of our and our befriended societies, it faithfully takes care of our ancestors’ hopes.
“Besida” is available for reading in the library of Ruska Bursa in Gorlice which is open on Mondays from 2PM-6PM or after individual appointments in other terms. The magazine is also available in the local Circles of the Lemko Association in Poland.
