They are going to cook in Ruska Bursa – pre-Christmas meeting

Part of the Rusyns around the world have already celebrated Christmas, but the whole Lemkovyna is still waiting for the great feast. As it is every year, Ruska Bursa in Gorlice would like to invite everybody for a pre-Christmas meeting that will take place this afternoon (Thursday, 29 December 2016). Both those who do not have to fast already and those who are still in the period of the Nativity Fast, will find tasty dishes such as: mushrooms, cabbage, peas, keselycia and others – i.e. all the traditional dishes that are served on Lemko tables at Christmas Eve.

Although the supper with trying Christmas dishes and singing carols starts in the afternoon at 4 PM, the organizers and hosts were gathering in Ruska Bursa since morning, as making dumplings, cooking cabbage, preparing tree decorations (and decorating the tree) is an inseparable element of every year’s pre-Christmas meeting in Bursa.
