Today’s gospel shows us a story that Jesus tells about a high-born man who, setting off on a long journey, distributes his estate to his servants, according to their abilities. After his arrival, he takes an account accounting. One of the bestowed, who was given one talent, buried it and did not multiply as the two others did. This parable shows us different gifts that we are given by God. They are called talents, as even one talent is priceless. Everyone of us is gifted with something. We should be thankful for the gifts, not envy others. We should try to make use of our talents for the profit of others, not bury them in our selfishness, egoism, but share them and, thus, multiply them so that when the Lord comes in glory, we can hear: Good, righteous and faithful man, you deserve to enter the Lord’s Kingdom. God be praised!
