On 24 September in Svidnik/Свидник, a meeting of the Society of St. John the Baptist took place (we reported about it here). You are invited to listen to the report from the event. You will here speeches of all the speakers, that is: the chairman, Rev. Jaroslav Popovich, Rev. Martin Kostilnik, and secretary of the Ministry of Education in Slovakia Peter Peter Krajnak. The speakers were also Martin Karas – a representative of the Rusynska Obroda (Rusyn Renaissance Society) and Peter Macko, a representative of the molody.Rusyny (young.Rusyns) organization. Additionally, greetings from people who could not be present were read out: from Milos Stronchek from the ROS chapter in Svidnik, Round Table of Rusyns in Slovakia and Anna Plishkova, Ph.D. from the Institute of Rusyn Language and Culture at Prešov University.
A letter from the Prešov archbishop and metropolitan John Babjak was read out. The archbishop sent greetings and a blessing to all the participants. Rev. Francis Krajnak from Kamienka gave a speech on Rusyn church translations. He focused on the meaning and understanding of the literary language in every part of life, mainly in the liturgical area.
